17th Annual Exhibition
St George's Art
Saturday 20 - Sunday 28 July 2019 at St Georges Cathedral
St George's Art has become a premier annual event in art education in Western Australia, attracting schools from all sectors.
Participation in this exhibition provides an outstanding opportunity for schools to present work by students in Years 10, 11 and 12, in the unique setting of the Cathedral. At the Gala Awards Night, prizes are awarded to selected works by a prestigious panel of judges.
There is no charge for exhibitors, ensuring all young artists are able to participate, and prizes are offered as a worthwhile incentive. The event is supported by the Anglican Community Fund, City of Perth, Arts Foundation donations, and corporate sponsorship.
Last year's Overall Winner was Alexandra O'Brien of Iona Presentation College. Iona Visual Arts Teacher, Jordan Andreotta, said:
"The St George's Art exhibition is great for our students as it supports emerging and upcoming artists in preparing themselves for the professional world. The exhibition encourages parents and the wider community to support and be involved in development and growth of our students. An important aspect of the exhibition is that student achievements can be publicly recognised and celebrated which helps develop their confidence as artists."
